Bio

Patrick Muinde is a veterinarian, a holder of Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Nairobi. Currently, he is doing his MSc in Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health at the Royal veterinary college (RVC). He is a member of Kenya Veterinary Association (KVA) and registered with Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB).

Patrick is working for part of the MRC ESEI funded “Urban Zoo” project, through the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) as a Research Assistant. This is a multidisciplinary project aiming to assess food safety risks associated with the livestock value chains in urban and peri-urban Nairobi (Kenya).  Patrick is part of the value chain team and conducts focus group and individual interviews, collects data on food safety risks in the food chain, and is involved in sampling domestic livestock in urban and per-urban areas of the city.  He is also responsible for digital data management in the project.
