Bio

Dr. Gerald Munai is a Veterinarian working in the public service in Tharaka-Nithi County, Kenya. He heads the veterinary department in Tharaka South Sub-County whose main functions are livestock disease prevention and control as well as veterinary public health in particular meat hygiene.

Currently, he is a postgraduate resident pursuing a Master’s degree in Field Epidemiology under the Kenya Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program. He has a Bachelors in Veterinary Medicine from The University of Nairobi, 2009.

His areas of interest are zoonotic and emerging diseases as well as food safety.
